Hoops Brings Basketball to Rocket League With Patch 1.17

If you are reading this article, then you probably know what Rocket League is all about. With the latest free update, Psyonix adds yet another sport into the mix in the form of Hoops.

The update comes with a new map to go along with the new game mode. This map is also more than just a re-skin. The goal is not its usual rectangular shape. It is instead circular and elevated from the ground. As I’m sure you could have guessed, the ball has also been changed to a basketball. Players on will also get a free NBA logo flag. If you want to rep your favorite team, you will have to fork over $1.99 for the DLC.

This comes just a few months after the Winter Sports update, which included hockey with more maps and modes. Just like the addition of Hoops, this was also a free update. It is refreshing to see developers release content that isn’t always blocked by a paywall.

Will you be checking out the new mode? Let us know in the comments.

Rocket League is Getting a Basketball Mode

First Psyonix brought hockey to Rocket League, now they’re bringing another sport to the game. This time it appears to be basketball, as the team behind the game took to twitter to tease us all with an image ahead of March Madness.

We’re approaching the point where all sports are going to be featured in Rocket League, and I think we can all agree that’s a future worth looking forward to. So what’s next after basketball, bowling? Not a bad idea if you’re listening, Psyonix.

Regardless, hopefully we’ll hear more about Rocket League‘s new basketball mode in the near future. For now, you’ll have to feast your eyes on the image up top and be content with playing hockey.
