NBA 2K15 My Career Tips: How to Become a League Leading Superstar

Here are several NBA2K15 My Career Tips to build a successful career as an NBA Star at any Position, these tips will benefit Park play as well.

• Always make your Player about 3-4 inches taller than you think is acceptable. Height will give you an advantage in several aspects of the game. There really is no advantage to making a shorter player in My Career.

• Maximize VC (Virtual Currency) earnings. To get the most VC out of each game play on “Hall of Fame”Difficulty this will multiply each games total VC earnings by 2 (x2.00), This can be done by going to “Options” then “Gameplay Settings”.

• Always play 12 minute quarters as this will help earn Large amounts of VC every game, Default quarter length is six minutes so playing twelve minute quarters effectively doubles the game time allowing the user to have more court time therefore gaining more VC. If this gets to be too long remember you can Save and Quit mid-game and come back later to finish, Welcome to a real 12 Minute NBA Basketball game.

NBA2K15_MyCareer_2015-01-26-01-57-08

• Play for a Team that compliments your personal play style and position. After being drafted to your respective Team you’ll play through one whole Season. Feel free to sim a few games to make the season finish faster 82 games can be a lot. (BEWARE NO VC CAN BE EARNED FROM A SIMULATED GAME). Don’t forget to build up your players Attributes throughout the season also this can be done by Selecting “Player Upgrades” then “Attribute upgrades”. After your teams season is over you’ll be given the option to ask for a trade IF you do wish to be traded you can select 3 teams that you’re interested in. Remember to make the team you’re most interested in the top on the list. Be sure to select a Team that already has players to compliment your players/personal play style for example if you’re a Small Forward Selecting Oklahoma City Thunder is probably a bad idea because they have Kevin Durant, you want to try to put yourself on a team where you can have a chance to be an immediate starter but at the same time not replace a current star. Try to Team up with the strongest starters possible, For example I play as A Small Forward for the Phoenix Suns we have strong Point Guard play with Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas and Mason Plumlee in the post as a Center so me at the SF ( Small Forward) is perfect covering 3 out of 5 positions on the floor at any time.

NBA2K15_MyCareer_Trade_Request_2015-01-26-13-13-29

• Once your comfortable on a Team play as many games as possible earn and save VC to spend on your players strong points once again this is where 12 minute quarters and HOF (Hall of Fame) difficulty will benefit greatly. You can receive VC bonuses from Milestone’s based upon Scoring, Teammate grade, Rebounds, Steals, Blocks, Field Goal Percentage, Dunks and more.

NBA2K15_MyCareer_2015-01-28-13-15-41

• Choosing the right Jumpshot. Different Jumpshot releases can be bought and selected under “Player Upgrades” then “NBA Animations” you can find many current NBA player shooting animations and Legends as well, I suggest trying out Vince Carter’s Jump Shot also i have been successful using Ray Allen’s, Michael Jordan’s and Carmelo Anthony’s. Be sure to test it out a few times in game especially before passing final judgment.

NBA2K15_MyCareer_Attribute_upgrades_2015-01-26-02-48-12

• Space the floor, put yourself in the best position to score every play and never give up or play lazily keep in mind My Career games can be saved and finished later. Also I Recommend playing on Camera view : Zoom 1 , Height 1 as this will help to see the whole court as well as teammates optimizing successful gameplay.

• In MyPark  I suggest only playing (2v2,3v3) or Jordan Rec Center (5v5) with friends this way it’s much easier to communicate with teammates and work together to Win and dominate the competition.

NBA 2K15 Tips: How to get ANY Shoe!

Frustrated you aren’t getting that shoe endorsement you want? Don’t worry we have found out how to get ANY shoe in NBA 2K15! Follow the steps below to acquire the shoe of your choice.

1. Go to options and create a new 2k generic shoe, it doesn’t matter what it looks like, just save it as something you can remember like MYSHOE HOME or MYSHOE AWAY, it will work with both home and away. If you already have some 2k generics that you like, than just save them under a new name.

2. Go to MyPlayer store in options (NOT in MyCareer mode) and choose the 2k shoes you created in step 1. It will say they cost 1000 VC and you have to have at least that amount on your account but it won’t actually charge you anything, so just buy them and make sure they are equipped. (If you equip some shoes you created and you actually like them, you can keep them if you equip them here, they won’t change back to the default generics like in mycareer store)

3. Go back to edit the 2k shoes you created in step 1 and DELETE them (Go to edit and press triangle/Y on the 2k shoes you just saved.). Just make sure again that you know their exact name.
4. Go to create a brand shoe that you like (Nike, Jordan, Adidas, etc), edit the colours and all and when you are done, save this shoe with the same name you saved the generics in step 1 and deleted in step 3.

5. That’s it, don’t touch anything else, your guy will have the shoe created in step 4 equipped because it has the same name. Now if you want to change them, just delete them and create another shoe with the same name (just repeat step 4, don’t repeat all other steps)

Let us know how these NBA 2K15 Tips worked out for you in the comments!

Madden 15 Super Bowl XLIX Prediction

EA sports played their Madden 15 Super Bowl XLIX yet again this using Madden simulate the matchup between the Seahawks and Patriots. The New England Patriots came out on top 28-24, checkout the game recap below:

PATRIOTS TRIUMPH OVER SEAHAWKS IN OFFICIAL

MADDEN NFL 15 SUPER BOWL PREDICTION

Electronic Arts Inc. today released the official Madden NFL 15 Super Bowl Prediction pitting the New England Patriots vs. the Seattle Seahawks. The prediction calls for a tightly-contested game between the two teams, coming down to a heroic play in the final drive to seal the win. The prediction sees New England’s offense overcoming the Seahawks’ defense to pull out a 28-24 victory.

The Patriots kicked off the scoring early, marching down the field on their first possession and capping it off with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Rob Gronkowski. Seattle would answer with a field goal later in the quarter, keeping the game close heading into the 2nd.

New England and Seattle traded TDs in the period, but as the Patriots attempted their final drive before the half the Seahawks’ vaunted secondary struck, with Earl Thomas III intercepting a pass intended for Gronkowski and returning it 58 yards for a touchdown. With that pick the Seahawks took the lead into halftime, 17-14.

Coming out of the locker room Seattle kept momentum on their side by scoring on their first possession with a 9-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch. The Patriots were on the ropes, but they came out swinging and Tom Brady once again found Rob Gronkowski for a touchdown from 14 yards out.

The 4th quarter was a defensive battle, with neither team able to put points on the board early. Late in the game Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis made his presence known, intercepting a Russell Wilson pass and giving the Pats one last chance to win. In the waning seconds Tom Brady hooked up with Julian Edelman, who managed to slip out of a tackle and make a break for the end zone. Kam Chancellor sprinted toward Edelman to try and make a Super Bowl-saving tackle, but the speedy Edelman dove into the Promised Land as time expired, securing victory.

Tom Brady was named MVP of the game thanks to his 335 yard, 4-touchdown performance, his third such honor. Julian Edelman led all receivers with 8 catches for 106 yards, while Marshawn Lynch proved to be unstoppable on the ground with 118 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Battlefield Hardline Multiplayer Gameplay Leaked

A video has recently surfaced on YouTube of some leaked Battlefield Hardline Multiplayer Gameplay. Check it out below!

MAP: The Block  Mode: Conquest

Battlefield Hardline is boasting the fastest Battlefield gameplay ever and personally I’m excited to see what this title has to offer with the Military First Person Shooter genre getting stale.

Cops, criminals. There are two sides of the law. But why choose? You get to ride with both.

Here is a List of known Battlefield Hardline Multiplayer Maps

BANK JOB
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-18-07

Money is the root of all evil. The criminals are plotting a ruthless assault on a high-security bank vault. But, they messed up and triggered a silent alarm and the police are jamming to the scene of the crime.

THE BLOCK
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-18-07.jpg_2015-01-27-13-19-51

What looks like a liquor store and bail bonds office, is actually a front. This is home to a notorious criminal ring. The police know better than to enter The Block without backup.

DUST BOWL
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-21-56

The small desert town of Joad is off the beaten path and well-known for meth trafficking problems. The cops have had enough and are on the scene to shut it all down.

HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-38-24

A mansion high in the Hollywood Hills looks ripe for a little crime. The criminals have started a wildfire in the nearby hills to distract te police. Do you think that’ll work?

GROWHOUSE
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-26-39

The cops located an illegal underground marijuana grow operation. The cops are raiding the place, but the criminals aren’t going down without a fight. After all, this is precious cargo for them.

DERAILED
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-37-46

The industrial side of Los Angeles is home to many shady dealings. A criminal ring has set up shop in the warehouses and scrap yards, where they’re trying to make that money from illegal doings.

RIPTIDE
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-37-11

A drug smuggler’s haven, this high-tech and expensive island crib is being ransacked by the police. A chain of small islands is connected by bridges and waterways, providing multiple access to it.

EVERGLADES
Battlefield_Hardline_2015-01-27-13-36-31

Florida is not all sand and beaches. Deep in the heart of the Everglades, a fracking site has turned into a battle playground s the cops and criminals wage war against each other.

The exact date of the Open Beta hasn’t been announced yet but EA has released this statement: “First things first: It’s open to everyone and on all platforms – PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360®, PS4™ and PS3™. So no matter where you roll or how you roll, you have a way to get in”. Battlefield Hardline Releases March 17th.

NBA2K_Myteam_Sapphire_Ricky_Rubio

Spain’s Ricard “Ricky” Rubio played in his first Professional Euroleague game in 2006 at the age of Sixteen, Three years later he was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves (5th pick, Round 5) since day 1 of his NBA Career he has been compared to Pete “Pistol Pete” Maravich because of his elite passing and ball handling skills he is a magician with the rock, NBA2K15 echoes these comparisons completely.  Look to make difficult passes a myriad of other guards could never dream of including but not limited to Alley-Oops from Halfcourt or closer (granted the player finishing the play is a high flying Dunker). Also utilize passes in traffic through tough defense and full court outlet passes as well, Rubio’s passing vision (99) and accuracy will reward the user immensely especially because he has the “Dimer” badge (which allows him to find teammates in correct position to score easily) also keep in mind holding L2/Left Trigger when passing will result in a bounce pass useful for heavy defense’s and smart passing alike.

With such potent offensive skills Rubio’s defensive talents are not to be overlooked his steal rating is (96 very high) although he is not a Lockdown Defender his lateral quickness (88) and Defensive IQ of (81) can help on the Defensive end of the floor. Check the Auction House for a “Lockdown Defender” Badge to apply to him to improve defense.

NBA All Net Interview with Chris Castagnetto

Sports Gamers Online: Tell us about your game for those who have never heard of it.

Multiple game modes including Tournament, Leagues, Road to Glory and Ranked Matches.[/caption]

Chris Castagnetto: NBA All Net is a competitive team management game where players build and manage their dream line up. Players can take part in various game modes where they can relive historic career highlights of NBA players, survive the Road to Glory, battle their way through tournaments, take part in competitive leagues or compete in Ranked Matches and rise to the top of seasonal Leaderboards. Future updates include new player cards, additional game modes, and weekly events which will continue to keep NBA fans excited throughout the season.

Sports Gamers Online: How long was the development cycle for the game? How large is your studio?

Chris Castagnetto: NBA All Net has been in development for over 2 years with an international team of over 30 developers and designers.

Sports Gamers Online: Do you feel mobile gaming is the future of gaming?

Chris Castagnetto: Definitely, over the past few years the mobile gaming market has really started to take off not just in size but also in quality. Games that would have passed as a top game a few years ago won’t stand up to games of today due to the overwhelming amount of innovation in the mobile market. As mobile devices become more powerful the opportunities for the gaming market are boundless with better graphics and more computing power.

[caption id=”attachment_4323″ align=”alignnone” width=”700″> NBA_ALL_NET_COLLECT_NBA_STARS Build your NBA All Net dream team with a collection of past and present NBA Players.

Sports Gamers Online: Who are you targeting with NBA All Net?

Chris Castagnetto: We designed NBA All Net with NBA fans in mind. From its inception NBA All Net has always focused on the player experience developing features specifically for NBA fans including Legendary Match system where players can relive historic moments in NBA history. We’re also always listening to our fans and improving the game based on their experience. We ran a very in depth beta for over 3 months where we took the user experience in mind and redesigned many elements of the game directly based on the users feedback we received. Even now after launch we’re listening to users all across social media, and in our forums, and are currently implementing improvements as well as features based on their feedback.

Sports Gamers Online: What made you decide to go with a Free-to-Play Model?

Chris Castagnetto: The Free-to-Play model is in our opinion the future of the mobile gaming market. With the Free-to-Play model were able to get NBA fans into the game to try it out before they ever have to commit to a purchase. We want our users to enjoy our game and experience all it has to offer without the requirement of payment.

Formats: Android, IOS
Publisher: KICK9, Inc.
Developer: DeNA
Release Date: Out Now

Sports Gamers Online: What do you think is the coolest feature in the game? Are there features that didn’t make it into this version that you would include in the next?

Chris Castagnetto: That’s a hard question to ask. Personally I like the multiplayer elements of the game where I can compete with players from around the globe in tournaments or weekly ranked match competitions to win great rewards. It gives me a great challenge to choose the right strategies and player combinations to be able to defeat my opponents and I really enjoy that aspect of the game. With that being said I also do enjoy the challenges of our Road to Glory system where you try to defeat teams that are increasing in difficulty for some great rewards. This gives me a real challenge and makes me want to try many different player combinations to create that perfect team.

As for future updates we have a big update on the horizon, Update 4.2, which is going to be introducing a few new features for players to enjoy as well as enhance and improve a number of current features. Unfortunately I can’t share much about these features yet but they are going to be a ton of fun and I can’t wait to share them with our users.

We appreciate the NBA All Net development team taking their time to speak with us, be sure to checkout the game which can be downloaded for iOS or Android for free here. Stay tuned to Sports Gamers Online for free NBA All Net prizes we will be giving away this week.

NBA 2K15 Myteam Sapphire Cards: Brooklyn Nets

NBA2K15 recently updated the rewards for completing some of the 2014-2015 NBA Roster Collection’s (found under “Collection’s” in MyTeam mode). Here is a Breakdown for the Brooklyn Nets reward.

AGE: 26  Height: 7 ft  Weight: 275 Position: C
Drafted: 2008, Round 1 , Pick #10
Current Team: Brooklyn Nets
Badges: 9

NBA-ALL Star (2013)

NBA ALL-Rookie First Team (2009)

Brook Lopez is a BEAST Offensively, at 7 feet tall he has an elite low post game complete with Spin moves , Post Fade away Jumpers , Dream like up and under moves, Hook shots and of course A healthy appetite for Dunks easily destroying most defenders if used correctly , look to initiate the Post back-down with Lopez give the defender any of the moves listed above (don’t forget your pump fakes) and the points are almost guaranteed to come. Brook also has a great mid-range jumpshot (88 midrange rating) so feel free to shoot inside the 3pt line from mostly anywhere when open but obviously the closer you can get to the basket when attempting a shot is a must with Brook Lopez.

Lopez’s Defense is also nothing to scoff at he has a high Block Rating of (92) and being 7 feet tall definitely helps when going for the Swat, So don’t be shy when using Lopez to contest any and all shots coming into the paint.

He also has the “Bruiser” badge so any player he’s matched up against will get fatigued much faster than normal so take advantage on both ends of the floor.

KS4 Wins NSFL Superbowl Season 2

The road to the Super Bowl is a long and treacherous one, to do it once is a tremendous feat. The Cleveland Browns have done it twice now in the NSFL. The Browns beat the Vikings 19-14 with Manziel leading his team to another victory in the second season of the NSFL. The AFC favorites matched up in a tight one with the Vikings, who upset the NFC favored Redskins. The Vikings led by Adrian Peterson just couldn’t put enough points on the board to beat the Browns, being held to only 14points. Both teams had to overcome a lot to even get to the Super Bowl. The Vikings battled out of a NFC conference unmatched to that of recent years and an Adrian Peterson suspension. The Browns had to endure the long road of going after another Super Bowl after winning the season prior, having the largest target on their backs. Check out the Super Bowl video below for the full experience.

Madden 15 10 Tips to Instantly Improve Your Offense!

1.       Be Unique – Don’t have a average joe offense that consists of HB off tackle, play action TE out routes. Go into practice mode and start getting creative if you want to get better you has to throw people off just like in the NFL. Because becoming predictable on offence will get you in lots of trouble!

 2.       Don’t be stupid on Fourth Down – My biggest mistake in Madden when I first started was that I would go for it on 4th and 10 etc. and rarely get it and this would cause me to lose the game. Punt the football and play defense! Even if you suck at defense the only way to get better is to keep doing it.

 3.       Don’t user the lineman – The fastest way to get good at defense is getting a good user. What I do is use the outside linebacker and try to take away the simplest read going from inside to out so if there is a tight end user and take him away it will make your opponent have to panic or throw it anyway to get you a interception.

 4.       Message good players – In Madden 12 I messaged the number 60 ranked guy and asked if he would play a game just in that game I learned so much and it showed me a different side of the game I didn’t know before. Or just ask any YouTuber for a game like me I will be glad to help anyone that asks.

 5.       Throw the ball out of bounds! – If you’re scrambling and you have nowhere to go chuck the ball out of bounds don’t be that guy who throws up a streak in double coverage because he panics!

 6.       Read the coverage – Learn to be able to look at a defense and know what it is and have ways to beat if for example I see cover 3 I am throwing my user catch play no matter what! Peyton Manning doesn’t go to the line and stare at the grass so learn defenses to get a better offense.

 7.       Keep it Simple – I do not mean run what everyone else does I am saying that if you find an offensive strategy that is awesome and works for you keep running it until the person can stop it. This also allows you to learn your reads and master those few plays.

 8.       Don’t Quit – If you are playing a guy that is better than you and losing big keep playing! The only way to get better is through experience and you don’t get that by quitting. If you are down big you can try new plays you don’t normally run. Losing should be a learning experience for your next game.

 9.       Run screens –  RB, WR, TE, FB there are so many ways you can run screens! And it is one of simplest ways to get easy yardage. See video for a run through on all the different types!

10.   Join a league – It is said practice makes perfect. Online Madden leagues are a great way to practice versus other players of varying skill. We have several leagues to choose from ranging from SIM to competitive on SGO. Sign up for one today!

Madden 15 Connected Franchise Top Free Agents

Having six active CFM leagues on Sports Gamers Online means we have to get whatever strategic edge we can with building our teams vs quality competition. Here is a quick run down of Madden 15 Connected Franchise Top Free Agents to help jump start your dynasty.

Carl Nicks LG #77 – 92 OVR 95STR  91RBK

i

This gaurds time in Tampa was ended prematurely in due to a toe injury. But in Madden he is a great pickup who’s only downside is his 76 INJ. He can come in and be a starter on most Offensive lines right away.

Jermichael Finley #88 TE – 85 OVR  85SPD  95JMP

Once a top Madden TE Finley’s injuries have nearly ended his career. He’s still a good receiving TE pickup if you can deal with his 67 INJ.

Chris Rainey #25 HB – 94SPD 99AGI 97ACC

Yes one of the most explosive players in the game doesn’t even have a team. But Raineys real life poor decisions is to your benefit in the Madden. Sign him and put him to work with that explosive speed, agility and acceleration.

James Harrison #92 – OLB/DE – 85STR  90POW  85 PUR

i (1)

Harrison’s days in the NFL may be over, but as a converted DE he still has some juice left. With his good STR and 85 PMV he can get to the QB while still holding up vs the run.

Madden 15 Tips: 3 Overload Press

Here is a 5-man rush out of the Nickel 3-3-5 package.  This play is so silly that is works out of a stock look.  Again, much like every defensive call, you can mess with it at your own choice.  This blitz follows the rage of what’s popular thus far in M15 which is a 5-man pressure with a 3 Deep Look behind it.

Formation:  Nickel 3-3-5

Play:  3 Overload Press

Adjustments:  None.  You could choose to Press the Nickelback to get to the QB quicker.

***You could choose to use QB Contain on this play if you’d like.  It might mean a little slower (delayed) blitz to the QB, but could be beneficial against some of the more mobile QBs.

Madden 15 Tips: SS Scrape 3

Our blitzes will be of the SIM variety meaning there will be very little setup and no moving of any players on the defensive side pre-snap.  As most know by know, getting to the QB in Madden 15 is a lot easier than in years prior.  The OLine is still smart, but sometimes they don’t get the job done in obvious situations.

Because of this, stock blitzes have a greater likelihood of being effective.  But never under-estimate the importance of having some key blitzes in your back-pocket during those critical moments in a key game.  Contrarily, also never get stuck holding the bag on offense without a hot-read for your QB….knowing these blitzes come in hot.

Formation:  3-4 Predator

Play:  SS Scrape 3

Adjustments:  Shift DL Left

***You could also tinker with QB Contain as well, but as long as you shift the DL to the left, the SS will come in free OR the RT will pick up the SS and the LOLB will come in even quicker.  Make sure you do NOT do anything to move the SS back for 2 Deep Look.

Madden 15 Tips: Gun Normal HB WK

When a SIM player looks for tips on gameplay, the word that comes to mind is “Strategy.”  Those gimmicky, glitchy plays are a thing of the past, and quite unfashionable to be honest.  This is even more evident that we have truly become the coach of our own teams with custom playbooks remaining fully implemented.

Today we bring to you two nice shotgun plays, where both Man and Zone beaters are combined into the route set.

Set:  Gun Normal HB WK

Personnel:  3 WR, 1 TD, 1 RB

Play: Cowboys Shake

1tip

Man Reads: The initial read will always be the slot, as his shake-route is one of the more effective man-beaters in the game.  If the defense is playing man, he will be your guy.  Another thing to keep an eye on is the RB in the flat as the most commoin USER the LB approach on defense could leave this open in a man concept as well, and the best hot-read against a blitz.

Zone Reads: If zone is your initial reaction, you could still hit the slot, but a nice 20 yard gain could be picked up from the flanker on the right side with that skinny post.  A hard inside and down pass lead (while usering the WR) could get this done.  Also, if the defender USERS the FS and comes down hard on the shake route, then the Post to the left could be a viable option.

Play: Broncos FK Rub

1tip1

Man Reads: The reads here are pretty similar to the Cowboys Shake route.  2 man-beaters are evident with the slot Trail-Action and the TE out-route.  The create major separation against CPU man-coverage.

Zone Reads: If zone is called, then you’ll have the flanker on the right with the post-action.  Look to Hot-Route this route however, calling a “Smart-Route” to make this action shorter.

Top Team in Madden 15

As we tear open our copies of EA Sports Madden NFL 15 this season, we ask ourselves many questions.  Which players will dominate in the open field making defenders and subsequently users look silly?  Which QB’s are the ones to own and build you franchise around?  And which teams are the top dogs of the Madden Season?

As Madden imitates real life more and more, there is no argument that the top two teams you’ll be seeing online this season are the defending champion Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers.  Two nasty, in your face, old-school teams get the nod this season as the two best.  But which is the absolute cream of the crop?

When a running a comparison of the two, the realization that the teams are built similarly is evident.  Both have mobile QB’s.  Both have a power running game.  Both have a great pass rush.  Both have a hard-hitting secondary.  Both have plenty of weapons on the offensive side.

dseahawks

Advantages

QB

You cannot get much better than Russell Wilson at QB.  The man is mobile with an 86 SPD, 92 ACC and 74 ELU at the QB position.  In addition, he possesses a 93 THP to go along with his 87, 83, 89 THA’s.  So, much like Kaepernick, he can be used in a variety of ways.  The edge will go to Wilson though for his accuracy advantage despite Kap being a bit faster and harder throwing.

Run Game

Much like every comparison between these two teams, they will all be close calls and nitpicking.  The Seattle run game will get the nod here as with Marshawn Lynch, you cannot go wrong.  Already, not even a week into gameplay, as players everywhere are noticing that the A and B gaps are for the taking in the M15 run game.  Out with the “outside” run and in with the power game.  Lynch and his 99 TRK ability will do much damage this season.

Secondary

LOB…the Legion of Boom.  Not in a while have we seen such a collection of talent in one secondary.  The cover boy is the top rated CB in the game; Kam Chancellor hits everything that moves; and Earl Thomas is a ball-hawking fool.  Much like real life, Cover 3 will run rampid for these boys.

d49ers

Advanatages

Offensive Weapons

Another close call on this one, but the 49ers get the nod here as TE Vernon Davis makes up much of the difference.  Davis still has incredible speed at a 90 SPD and 92 ACC rating.  An issue to deal with is the lack of speed at the WR position, but all 3 guys guys are solid vets, and we’ve noticed that speed isn’t as big a deal at the WR position in this game.  RTE and CIT is enormous in comparison.  Things would be a ton different here if Seattle WR Percy Harvin didn’t have a 75 INJ rating.

Front 7

MLB’s Patrick Willis and Navorro Bowman make up what is the best 1-2 punch at the ILB position in the game.  Although creeping up there in age, Willis still holds a 90 SPD and 97 POW rating.  Edge Rusher Aldon Smith is a beast with his 96 ACC and 99 PMV, making any QB and OL shiver in their sleep.

Offensive Line

Another very close call, but the 49ers raw strength on the Oline is what put them over the top.  LT Joe Staley is still one of the best in the business with an OVR of 95.  And LG Mike Lupati brings a STR rating of 97 to the table every Sunday.

Recap

Obviously there is no wrong team to choose here.  While Seattle has the overall higher rating, the 49ers have a few more players rated in the 90’s.  The best way to approach the situation on which team to choose is based on your play style.  Which scheme do you like more?  the 4-3 or 3-4, as this is the only difference between the two teams.  If your a 4-3 loving fool than choose the Seahawks and never look back.  If you prefer the bulk of the 3-4, then roll with the 49ers as the Top Team in Madden 15.

All-Pro vs All-Madden Debates: Who wins?

Could you make the argument that Jamal Mashburn was a better small forward than LeBron James during the 2002-03 basketball season simply because Mashburn was playing with and against professional basketball players while James was playing with and against other high school players?

Similarly, could you make the argument that former NBA Shooting Guard Rex Walters was a much better hoops player than high school Phenom Kobe Bryant during the 1995-96 basketball season simply because Walters was playing with and against other professional basketball players, while Bryant was limited to playing with and against only other high school basketball players?

Marinate on that for a moment.

In the meantime, let’s now switch the subject matter from basketball players to fanatical video sports gamers. Would you believe that back in early 1999, I almost got into a fisticuffs fight with a good friend and fraternity brother of mine named Tim a.k.a. “Bigg Badd Bevv” because he and I got momentarily caught up in an extremely heated argument regarding the perceived strengths and weaknesses of engaging in EA Sports Madden NFL gameplay on the All-Pro level of difficulty versus the All-Madden level of difficulty?

At the time, whenever Bevv and I competed on the All-Madden level, I won probably 85-90% of our games. On the flip side, whenever we competed on the All-Pro level, Bevv won approximately 65-75 % of the time (He and I had an on-going ‘best-of-three’ series between us, where we would play one game on All-Pro, one game on All-Madden, and if a third ‘tie-breaker’ game was necessary, whoever won by the largest margin in their Game 1 or Game 2 victory got to play on their preferred level of difficulty for Game 3).

The first version of EA Sports Madden NFL I ever played regularly was Madden ’98. A close friend and fellow online league member of mine, DeMarrio Gray, introduced to me to the game of Madden NFL, and I immediately became ‘addicted’ to this form of video sports game competition (Actually, the first EA Sports game I ever played regularly was FIFA Soccer ’95).

On Madden ’98, there were three levels of difficulty: Rookie, Pro, and Madden. Whenever DeMarrio and I played games on the Rookie level, he won probably 95% of the time. When we played briefly on the Pro level, he won probably 50-60% of the games between us. But when we escalated up to Madden level, I completely dominated him. I won probably 95-99% of the time.

Consequently, I began to hate playing against DeMarrio on the Rookie level, and to a lesser extent, the Pro level, and conversely, DeMarrio developed a passionate hatred toward the idea of competing against me on the Madden level.

Now, could I validly make the argument that I was a ‘better’ and more skilled Madden NFL competitor because I defeated my two friends Tim and DeMarrio the vast majority of the time while competing on the Madden / All-Madden level? Initially, I honestly believed so. Years later, I was not so sure of that cocky assumption.

Just recently, I was conversing with another good friend and fellow Madden NFL online league member of mine named Ato (pronounced ‘Ah2′). Last Thursday, he and I played two games against each other on the new 2014-15 version of Madden NFL. In the first game, played on the All-Pro level, I defeated Ato 20-14 in Overtime. In the second game, played on the All-Madden level, I jumped out to a 13-0 lead only to see my buddy Ato score 20 unanswered points to eventually win the game 20-13. When discussing the game the other day, Ato expressed the lighthearted remark, “I hate playing on All-Pro.” I asked, “Why?” Ato responded, “Among other things, I think it makes the game too easy.” Too easy for whom?

Starting with the late 1990s all the way up until now, I have heard many other Madden NFL competitors suggest that those competitors who regularly play on the All-Madden level are “better” than those who compete on the Pro or All-Pro level. For the most part, I disagree with that assessment.

Returning to my professional sports analogies again, my attitude is, if Kobe Bryant is better than just about all of his basketball peers, he should have been able to dominate them on the high school level, the college level, and the professional level. Same thing goes for LeBron James.

Let’s say you have two competitors, “Larry” and “Brian.” If Larry wins 65% of his games against Brian on the ‘Pro’ level, and Larry wins 75% of his games against Brian on the All-Pro level, and then finally, Larry goes on to win 90% of his games against Brian on the All-Madden level, then Larry would have every right in the world to declare himself a “better Madden Baller” than Brian. Why? Because he proved his superior controller skills (also known as ‘stick’ or ‘user talents’) as well as his play calling and game strategy skills on each and every level.

On the other hand, if Brian wins 75% of their games on the Pro level, they each win roughly 50% of their games on All-Pro, and Larry wins 75% of their games on All-Madden, then how can anyone legitimately say that Larry (or Brian) is the ‘better’ Madden competitor? In reality, their talents would have to be considered about even. It would be clear that Brian is the better competitor on the Pro level, the two are about equal on the All-Pro level, and Larry is the better competitor on the All-Madden level.

As fond as I am of my good friend Ato, and I generally respect his opinions, to say that playing on the All-Pro level makes playing Madden NFL “easier” than playing the game on the All-Madden level is a ridiculous assertion in my opinion. “Easier” would imply that playing the game on the All-Pro level is “less of a challenge” and opens the door for one to achieve their desired gameplay goals much more frequently.

For example, if every time you compete on All-Madden, let’s say your team’s quarterback averages 250 yards passing and your team’s starting halfback averages 100 yards rushing; then, every time you compete with someone on the All-Pro level, that same quarterback was able to pass for an average of 450 yards and that same halfback was able to rush for an average of 200 yards. In that scenario, you could then validly present the argument that playing on the All-Pro level is ‘easier’ than playing on All-Madden. Personally, my individual and team statistics have rarely significantly increased when playing on All-Pro.

I do not believe either level is necessarily ‘better’ than the other. I would say that they are just ‘different.’

Defensively, I generally believe it is ‘easier’ to accumulate sacks and interceptions against an opponent while playing on All-Madden than you can on All-Pro, while on the flip side, I believe it is ‘easier’ to amass a high number of individual and team rushing yards while playing the game on All-Pro rather than All-Madden. (For example, I once had as many as eleven or twelve sacks against an opponent on All-Madden, whereas I have never come close to that sack total on All-Pro, and similarly, I once had close to 600 yards team rushing against an opponent on All-Pro, whereas I have never come close to that number of team rushing yards on All-Madden).

Bottom line, I am neither against All-Pro nor totally against All-Madden. I have played a number of games on both levels, and even a handful of games on the Pro level. As I just alluded to above, I believe both levels have their share of “benefits” and “detriments.”

My general assessment would be this: On offense, if you’re able to regularly score 50 – 100+ points on your opponents, then you’re probably playing on the wrong level. If you watch real-life NFL games on a regular basis, you would have to agree that it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for any NFL offensive squad to average 50.0 or more points per game against their opponents game after game after game. Similarly on defense, if you’re regularly able to accumulate double digit sacks and/or double digit interceptions against your online league opponents consistently, then you are playing on the wrong level. Rarely in a real NFL season do you ever see a defensive squad average double digit sacks and double digit interceptions.

My #1 argument against both All-Pro and All-Madden is simply the argument and debate itself. It is a pointless debate. I say, when organizing an online (or offline) Madden NFL league, you should play on whatever level the majority of your league members prefer, and secondly, the level that produces the most realistic final scores and the most realistic individual and team statistics.

Oh, and by the way . . . I believe that LeBron James was better than Mashburn even on the high school level. Same with Kobe Bryant vs. Rex Walters. Talent is talent. Whether that talent is displayed on the high school level of difficulty, the college level of difficulty, or the professional level of difficulty. Enough said.

Enjoy the 2014-15 Madden NFL Season.

Destiny Tips: Using Armor Piercing Rounds

People quickly discount Armor Piercing rounds for anything outside of PVP but the reality is that they are immensely helpful for certain parts of the game.

For example take the parts of VoG that mobs spawn in a hall/tunnel and come out at you – such as the gatekeeper phase. Though you can see the Vex eyes / core before they come out of the tunnel you cannot shoot them and they cannot shoot you. With armor piercing rounds you can shoot the mobs before they come out and start shooting at you. On top of that it’s generally very easy to hit them in their weak spot because they’re walking at you in a straight line and the rounds will go through multiple mobs because they’re all lined up.

Pro-Tip: shoot at tunnel-spawning mobs with armor piercing rounds before they come through the invisible wall and start shooting at you.

I’ve been messing around with this for a while just to make sure, but weapons with armor piercing, not only pierce through enemies, but walls too, with no damage dropoff. Been using it in PvE, PvP, Strikes, Raids, etc. I can pop behind cover and shoot through it, hitting my target each time, and even more. It does NOT shoot through Defender shields, or Phalanx shields.  I know for a fact this works with Sniper Rifles and Handcannons.

Here’s a video of it in PvP:

Here is a list of known weapons with Armor Piercing Rounds:

Crusader I

Doctor Nope

Shadow Price

Bad Juju

A.1F19X-Ryl

Corrective Measure

Destiny Tips: How to win in the Crucible!

Hey guys, I just wanted to throw some general Crucible Tips out there for the guys having a little bit of trouble finding success. These Destiny tips are not restricted to one game variety, but rather all PvP encounters.

1. Know your Guardian: This is tip is really rather easy if you think about it, but many don’t even consider it. Destiny has more variation in player customization than preceding Bungie games, so each and every Guardian’s loadout will have their very own personal strengths and weaknesses that you need to be mindful of. If you’re working with a Shotgun, it is most likely not in your ideal curiosity to venture down extended hallways, or if you are using a Sniper, you shouldn’t genuinely be sprinting all-get-out close to corners. Really don’t just limit this to weapons, take into account what perks you have selected, and play to these strengths. Again, this appears like it might be common sense, but it should be something that you’re contemplating at all times.

2. Use your Super: A mistake that I constantly manufactured when I first picked up Destiny was I would both forgot to consistently use my Super, or I would consider to hold onto it for too prolonged. The reality is you should be attempting to discover a circumstance to use your Super as usually as you can. Bear in mind, you don’t acquire anything by holding on to the Super for a longer time period of time—it’s not like your Super will get stronger if you wait to use it. If your Super is up, you ought to be searching to use it ASAP, either by activating it instantly for whatever enhance it provides you or by placing yourself in a situation in which you can maximize its effectiveness. Either way, don’t hold onto that Super for prolonged periods. While it is not fairly a “free kill”, it is most definitely “free stats”, so there is no genuine purpose NOT to use it.

3. Remain with each other: You will observe I didn’t say “stay grouped”, and that is a important distinction to make. You really don’t want to be so shut together that a single well positioned Super or Grenade will wipe out half your crew. However, by staying near your teammates, you give yourself a secure zone to retreat into, and you also give your enemy more targets to distract them away from you. A staff tactic that was pioneered in Halo (I think) is trading shields, where you consistently get turns tanking fire in gunfights, so that if your shields get reduced your teammate measures in and basically tags you out right up until your shields recharge. Although the lack of teamspeak may well make this harder, the idea stays: if your shields get dropped whilst you’re in a firefight, hide amongst your teammates till they recharge.

4. Don’t get greedy: This is something that I believe even good gamers will screw up on occasionally, just because it’s so simple to get caught up in the chaotic pace of the Crucible. If you drop someone’s shields and they go running away and close to a corner, really do not just blindly chase them, due to the fact a lot more usually than not they’ll have pulled out a shotgun and are waiting for you about the corner. By chasing somebody down, you are putting oneself in their zone of manage and letting them set the speed of the fight, even if their shields are low. As hard as it can be to let a potential kill go, it’s not worth the threat of pursuing without knowing what your opponent may well have up their sleeve. If you have Rockets or Grenades, then by all means, use your tools to flush your enemy out, but really do not simply chase blindly.

5. Prioritize your targets: This is one particular of the much more difficult techniques to get down, simply because there is no universally correct way to do this. It’s actually less difficult to tackle how not to prioritize targets, so we’ll start there: a whole lot of people new to the FPS genre will have a tough time deciding which target to emphasis on when presented with multiple possibilities, and will panic and end up carrying out minimal damage to a number of enemies rather than securing the kill on just a single or two targets. The brief response for prioritizing is figuring out which target is the greatest threat to your capability to kill. If you are at a mid-to-prolonged variety distance among a amount of targets, you almost certainly do not want to emphasis on the man working a Shotgun. Nevertheless, if he’s the only guy that is spotted you and he’s commenced to bum-rush you, you should definitely consider to drop him 1st, as he presents the largest risk. Keep track of what weapons your targets are utilizing, as effectively as what they are targeted on. Ultimately, it’s virtually always much better that you manage to destroy even just one target, rather than just get splash injury across 4 enemies. The reason why this method is so difficult to get down is that there are so many variables at play you want to try out to hold track of what weapons your enemies have, as effectively as what powers could or may not be up. There is no shortcut here, so the ideal factor that will support you here is experience. The most essential thing here is to make sure that you focus a single enemy at a time.

6. Use your radar: The radar function is what sets Destiny apart from most other FPS’s in the industry. It tells you the common location of your opponents and whether or not they are on the exact same vertical plane as you, but that’s actually about it. Past that, you really do not know how healthy they are, what weapon they have, if they’ve activated their Super, etc. All you actually know is that someone is shut to you, and the selection of the radar signifies you are offered just enough time to react with that info. There isn’t some master tip for this one particular, unfortunately—just integrate the other ideas and figure out your strategy of assault. Also, usually try out to preserve an eye on the radar you really don’t want to be that man that dies simply because he was flanked whilst he tunnel-visioned down his scope. On the other hand, do not invest so a lot time staring at the map that you get picked off by someone just out of the radar’s reach.

7. You can crouch: Yeah, you can crouch and you will momentarily disappear off the enemy’s radar. This is not long lasting, however—it’s not like the Halo model where you entirely fall off the map. As an alternative, you will still pulse on the enemy’s radar once each few seconds. The critical element here, however, is that you instantly vanish when you initial duck. In the occasion that your shields get dropped and you’re striving to evade your pursuer, you can drop into a crouch and buy yourself a couple of crucial seconds with which to plan out your next program of action. It is not fool-proof, but it can perform as a stalling tactic and can save your life in the right circumstance.

8. Control the engagement: I’d say that this tip is a blend of suggestions 1, 4, and 7. Essentially, place yourself in a scenario in which you can the two maximize your lethality, and minimize your opponents. If the exchange isn’t going in your favor—say you are outshot or ambushed—then get out of the engagement and figure it out from there. If you see that your opponent has a heavy weapon or a Super, get the hell out of there. Really do not get yourself in a bad firefight for no reason as you do not get any added EXP for bravery.

9. Shoot the head (unless they have shields): As everyone need to know at this point, headshot s(or Precision Shots) do a ridiculous volume of bonus damage. Therefore, you should often be seeking to try out to land headshots in PvP in buy to maximize your lethality. Nonetheless, you’ll want to keep in mind that headshots really do not do bonus injury if the enemy’s shields are up, so you really do not have to tunnel in attempting to land the headshots initially. It is excellent practice, nevertheless, to keep your reticle on the head, if only to make sure that you do not have to adjust your shot after you drop your target’s shields. Concentrate on the head and you’ll find yourself winning way a lot more gunfights than if you just sprayed and prayed.

10. Don’t assume: Significantly, really do not ever presume anything at all. Don’t assume that an enemy doesn’t have their Super prepared, or that they are not waiting all around the corner for you with a Shotgun, or that they don’t have their complete crew lying in wait for you. Often be prepared for the worst feasible final result so that it is significantly less most likely that you are caught off guard. And specially by no means assume that your teammates noticed anything that you did—it’s extremely probable that an enemy will run right by your teammate and they will not even turn to help you out, due to the vague radar system. Be conscious that I’m not saying that you ought to constantly be frightened, but alternatively I’ m saying be intelligent and be ready.

Destiny Tips: How to win in the Crucible!

Destiny Tips: Titan Striker Guide

Since I mostly come across Hunters and Warlocks in Destiny, and the TitansI do see are inevitably Strikers (HULK SMASH!!), I figured I would write up this guide to help illustrate why Defenders are awesome sauce. This guide will be strictly based on PVE Utility, since this is where they shine the brightest.

  • 1.Intro

  • 2.Stats

  • 3.Skills

  • 4.Gear

1.Intro

The Defender is all about the Bubble (Ward of Dawn). It’s usefulness cannot be understated, not only does it protect your party from incoming damages, it also applies BUFFS to your team for simply passing through it!! Blessing of Light buff provides a temporary overshield, and Weapons of Light provides increased weapon damage. So even if you are not a Titan, it is good to know which Buff a Defender has on his Bubble, you will see the little Buff Icon above your gun/ammo on the left of your screen.

Defenders deal Void damage with their Grenades, making them useful against Vex Minotaurs/Praetorians and Cabal Psions.

Using your Bubble can provide a crucial respite for your allies, a safe zone where they can recharge their shields, reload their weapons, and get a buff before getting back in the fight. A good Defender will be able to tell when and more importantly WHERE their bubble is needed most.

It’s important to note that your Bubble only stops projectiles, it will not stop enemies from entering your Bubble, and as such, placement of your Bubble can actually hurt your team, since you can not shoot into or out of the Bubble. If a Minotaur is running straight at you, your Bubble will be of little use, and could actually prevent your team from killing it once it enters the Bubble.

You have 3 Grenade types at your disposal, they are not as flashy as your Hunter and Warlock (or even Striker) Varieties, but they can be very useful, particularly your Magnetic Grenade. It not only sticks to the enemy, but it does void damage (great against Minotaurs/Praetorians), AND it explodes twice.

Defender Melee skill, Disintegrate, is also very useful for tanking purposes, since it provides an overshield upon kill of an enemy. As with any melee however, its use is entirely situational, and since you have to rely on a kill to get the overshield, it is best used on trash mobs (Goblins, Thralls, Dregs, etc).

2.Stats

Intellect – Decreases the recharge time of your Super, Ward of Dawn.
Discipline – Decreases the recharge time of your grenades.
Strength – Decreases the recharge time of your melee special.

For PVE purposes, i would suggest focusing on Intellect+Discipline. Your melee may save you in some circumstances, but having a quick recharge for it is not necessary with some of the gear/skills available to you, and if you are going to need to use your melee THAT much, then you are probably going to die in Raids or Nightfalls.

However, since your Bubble is better saved for when its needed, you do not necessarily need a quicker recharge timer on that either, so a Discipline+Strength focus can still be a completely viable option.

Either way, grenades are always useful, so which ever stats you pick, try to include Discipline in there if possible.

3.Skills

GRENADES

Magnetic Grenade. This will probably be your bread and butter in PVE. As mentioned above, it sticks to enemies, making it unavoidable if you aim it right, and it explodes TWICE. First blast deals 100 points of damage, 2nd blast deals 80, and it does an additional 65 points damage if it is stuck on the enemy, giving you a possible total of 245 points of damage. Also, when it is stuck on some enemies (such as Captains or Minotaurs), the enemy will actually stop what they are doing and crouch down in cover to try and avoid damage (joke is on them though!!). This mechanic can be extremely useful, as you can stop a charging Minotaur in its tracks, AND kill it in the process!!

Spike Grenade. This grenade sticks to a surface, shooting out a torrent of Void light, and has the potential to deal even more damage than the Mag Grenade, as it deals 100 points per second for 4 seconds, giving it a possible 400 points of damage. However, this grenade is situational, as it relies on confined spaces to be its most useful. In wide open areas, enemies can simply avoid where the Void torrent is altogether. You will get the most use out of this grenade by throwing it in front of spawn rooms, where enemies are going to spawn from (such as the far back spawn rooms in the Conflux phase of VoG). While this grenade has its uses and potential, I simply find the Mag Grenade to be much more useful because of its versatility and sticky properties.

Suppressor Grenade. While this grenade has its uses in PVP, it is almost useless in PVE. While it will suppress abilities for enemies (grenades, supers, etc), Enemy Ultras are unaffected by it (which are the ones that you would want to suppress), and enemies can still use their weapons to shoot you. On top of that, if YOU happen to get caught up in the blast radius, then your own abilities will be suppressed. You might be able to find some unique uses for it here and there, but it is vastly overshadowed in utility by the other two grenades.

LIFT

Your Double jump mechanic is called Lift, and it is one of the best in the game. It is faster than Warlock’s Glide, but less control. However, it does provide greater distance.

Increased Height can be useful, although you can also increase your jump height by increasing your agility. If you are making an Armor/Recovery Build (sacrificing Agility), Increased Height may be the better choice here.

Increased Control provides a slight Agility boost, and gives you much more control during your jumps. I have personally found this the most useful of the 3 in Vault of Glass, especially with the jumping puzzles, and to make sure i dont jump off a cliff accidentally (you can actually reverse your direction in air a bit with this one).

Catapult is more of a defensive perk for Lift, giving you quicker jumps. It is probably better suited for PVP, but you can still find its uses in PVE if you are making a more nimble Titan that is agility-focused, allowing you to evade enemies and get around the maps quicker for revives (works well with Crest of Alpha Lupi)

WARD OF DAWN

The almighty Bubble. The Bubble provides a shield that stops projectiles from entering or exiting the Bubble. It also provides a buff (assuming you have the perks) for your teammates. It will not stop enemies from entering, so it is best used to defend against enemies shooting from afar (Hobgoblins, for example), or against Bosses. Proper perk selection will greatly enhance your Bubble’s duration and even the perks you provide, making you one of the most useful members of any fireteam, especially in the Vault of Glass. If you use your Super while in the air, you will drop down to the ground, and it will apply the Bubble at that spot, which can be handy since the animation for the super takes a second before it actually lands (at which point you are vulnerable)

Armor of Light is most useful in PVP, as it provides increased armor while inside the Bubble, making it a dangerous proposition for enemy players to enter. Unfortunately, that is what also makes it almost useless in PVE. Not only are you sacrificing the other two more superior buffs if you use this perk, but if enemies are entering melee range inside your Bubble, you are probably in trouble anyway.

Blessing of Light provides you and anyone who simply passes through the Bubble an overshield that absorbs 65 points of damage(95 with the Illuminated perk equipped) and lasts 10 seconds. This is most useful when your team is taking damage from multiple sources (e.g. Defending the Confluxes in the Templar arena). Having that extra shield can keep your allies alive, especially if they are below the recommended level of that content.

Weapons of Light provides a buff to the weapon damage of your allies, making it universal and the best choice of the three. You get an amazing 25% buff to damage (upgraded to 35% with the Illuminated perk), and it lasts 10 seconds. I cant overstate how useful this perk is, and that YOU HUNTERS AND WARLOCKS SHOULD START TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS. A straight up 25 or 35% increase in weapon damage output…seriously.

MELEE ABILITY

Disintegrate. Similar to the Warlocks’ shield melee, this too provides you with an overshield, absorbing 75 points of damage, lasting 15 seconds (whichever comes first). However, unlike the Warlock, this requires you to actually KILL an enemy before you can get the shield, making it more difficult to use on harder content. While this is more useful in PVP, you can take advantage of it in PVE content if you plan properly and use it on trash mobs such as dregs or goblins.

War Machine. One of the better perks for Disintegrate, this allows you to reload weapons 150% faster, and reduces animation for aiming down sights and switching weapons. Since this relies on a melee ability kill, this syncs well with Shotguns, since they have slower reloads and allows you to stay in melee range.

Gift of Light. Can be useful in PVE, but is very risky. While your Force Barrier is active, any melee kills you have will generate Orbs for your teammates. This perk is the true definition of a punching Titan, and it helps your teammates when you drop some orbs, but use it with caution. Works well with the No Back Up Plans exotic piece, which extends the duration of Force Barrier, allowing you to generate more orbs with your melee kills (which benefit from increased melee speed as well).

Unbreakable. Also usefull for PVE content, as it allows your Force Barrier overshield to recharge itself, allowing you to absorb more damage. Works well with Fusion Rifles, since it increases your survivability in medium range.

CLASS MODIFIERS

Just going to skim this section, as it is the same as every other class for the most part, and will basically come down to personal preference. Your upgrades will improve either your Armor, Agility, or Recovery, or some combination thereof.

Titan Codex I Armor+2, Recovery+2 Best suited for builds where you are going to expect damage and want the best armor/recovery, sacrificing agility. Good for close range/Shotgun builds.

Titan Codex II Agility+2, Armor+2 Best suited for agile builds where you want to survive damage, such as running around reviving teammates.

Titan Codex III Agility+2, Recovery+2 Best suited for agile builds where you want to quickly regain lost health. Better for characters with higher level armor pieces.

ABILITY MODIFIERS

Bastion. One of the best perks for your Ward of Dawn, increases its duration from 30 seconds to 45 seconds, and gives you +2 Armor. Those extra 15 seconds means you have 15 more seconds of chance to grab your Bubble Buffs. Useful for builds where you do not have much Intellect, since even though it takes longer for your Super to recharge, it will last longer once up.

Relentless. Much better suited for PVP, as it increases your Force Barrier from absorbing 75 points to 95 points. However, if you plan on making a close quarters melee build, this is the perk to choose.

Gift of the Void. This can also be insanely useful in PVE, as it will generate Orbs if your Bubble takes damage, and if it is destroyed, additional orbs will be spawned. If your team wants to rely on their Supers, then this is the perk to choose.

ATTRIBUTE MODIFIERS

Same as Class modifiers, this will come down to personal preferences, and what type of build you are making.

Titan Codex IV Agility+1, Armor+2, Recovery+2 A well rounded perk to add a little to each. Useful in many situations/builds.

Titan Codex V Recovery+5 Useful if you are lacking Recovery, or if you wish to focus on that attribute above the rest.

Titan Codex VI Agility+4, Armor+1 Greatly increases your Agility, and a bit or Armor. Useful if you are lacking Agility in previous perks, or wish to focus on that.

ABILITY MODIFIER

Untouchable. Reduces the cooldown of Ward of Dawn, and increases Armor+1. Since it only reduces it from 4 minutes down to 3:30, and you can get Armor from other perks, I do not find this perk particularly useful, especially considering Illuminated is way way way way more useful.

Iron Harvest. Allows you to spawn Orbs from Heavy Weapon kills. This can have its uses, especially if paired with Gift of the Void, it will basically make you an Orb slot machine that hit Jackpot and spits out a bunch of Orbs to your team. If you already have a Defender Titan in your group that uses Illuminated, then you could definitely use IH/GoV in a pure Orb-generator build.

Illuminated. However, chances are you will most likely be using this perk, as it increases the buffs from your Blessing of Light (95 points) and Weapons of Light (35%). This perk is vital if you use Weapons of Light, since it will increase the buff another 10%, from 25 to 35%.

4.GEAR

Just going to give a short overview of the useful Exotics for the Defender Titan.

Helm of Saint-14 is the Defender Exotic Headpiece. It increases melee speed, and has the unique ability to blind enemies who enter your Bubble. It also increases your Super energy when you kill enemies. While this is more practical in PVP, where players are more apt to challenge you inside your Bubble, its use in PVE content is pretty limited. Still, you could always make a close-quarters Titan build, and lure enemies into your Bubble, and it will blind them, allowing you to kill them easier.

EDIT…since everyone is mentioning the Saint, I do not mean to imply it is not useful, only that it requires your Super to be available to reap the unique benefits of this helm. But yes…this can be very useful for many situations, as many of the commenters in this thread are pointing out.

No Backup Plans is the other Exotic (arm piece) that has exclusive perks for the Defender. This increases the reload speed of your Special weapons (read: SHOTGUNS!!), increased melee attack speed, and will also increase the duration of your Force Barrier. Again, more practical for PVP, but can have its uses in a close-quarters Shotgun/Melee build.

Crest of Alpha Lupi is a general Titan Exotic chest piece, and is very useful for PVE content. You have an increase of Auto Rifle Ammo (works well with Atheon’s Epilogue), increase in Special weapon ammo (good for Snipers or Fusion Rifles), and you revive teammates quicker, and get revived quicker. This syncs well with Agility builds and Catapult, as you can get in, revive quick, and jump back out again, making you crucial when teammates die in hairy situations.

Armamentarium

More grenades, more ammo. Pretty useful for anything, really.

CONCLUSION

Hope this guide was helpful in explaining some of the Mechanics and skills of the Titan Defender, and hopefully help convince some of you to take the plunge and join your fellow Punchbros inside the almighty Bubble. If anyone has any specific questions about Defender Titans, feel free to ask, and ill answer as best I can. Thanks for reading Guardians.

NBA 2K15 MyTeam Pointers: Player Reviews

What up, I did some of these for 2k14 and y’all liked it so Imma try and start doing these again now that MyTeam is IMO a looooot better. . If y’all have any suggestions or feedback let me know. This first episode probably isn’t gonna be too good because I haven’t done these in a while but don’t worry I’ll heat up soon.

*Lineup I’ll be using:

Starters:

Bench:

Player:   Chris Bosh
Position: PF/C
Ratings: First Half

Badges:

chrisbosh-myplayer-sgo
Price Range: (probably not acurate): Anywhere from 5500 to 10000 MT.
Player Overview & Strategies: Was looking for steals in the Auction Market and luckily somehow got Chris for 4500 MT. It’s surprising the he goes for so low considering how good of a player he is. The dude can score in so many ways, rebound (averages around 9 rebounds a game for me) play defense and again, score. I’d recommend playing him at PF along side a defensive C such as Noah, Horford or if you have the money, Shaq/Dwight. His post moves are money, and I almost always get perfect A+ releases on his post fadeaways, his jumpshot is incredibly easy to get used to so he can shoot from anywhere. In defense, he has such long arms that he contests a LOT of shots, and can like I said earlier, Rebound. So basically, to best utilize him, pair him up with a good PG and do a lot of pick and pop’s and pick and rolls. Also you can always just post up with him, and use his variety of moves.
Recommended Badges: Bank Is Open, Fade Ace, Post Spin Technician, Post Lock-down Defender, Closer.
Strengths: Shooting, Rebounding and Blocking.
Weaknesses: Defending against quick players, sometimes doesn’t rebound as good as he should, passing.
Use Bosh if: You need a big man who can score from anywhere in a variety of ways, #1 Scoring Option if needed, Pick and Roll master.
Don’t use Bosh If: You need a defensive minded big man who can pass well and is a monster rebounding.
Examples on how to use him:
Fadeaway #1
Fadeaway #2
Post Hook

Player: Monta Ellis
Position: PG/SG
Ratings: First Half

Badges:

ellismyplayer-sgo
Price Range: 5500 to 7500 MT
Player Overview & Strategies: Also stole Monta in the last minute in Auction Market. Decided to play him at PG since he is faaaaast and has a lot of PG skills. Monta is probably the best 2k15 player going to the rim IMO. The dude will make LITERALLY every shot somehow even if he gets killed while laying it up. He’s basically Lavine but better. Anyway, I recommend playing him at PG since he needs the ball to be effective, and pairing him up with a good shooting big man (Bosh), and just do Pick and Rolls, Iso’s and Pick & Pops allllll day. Like I said, he’ll make everything going to the lane, but he’s also a great passer, hence why he can be put at PG. In defense, mainly the only thing he can do is steal the ball, so don’t try and make him guard the opposition’s best player. He’s been averaging around 16 PPG and 9 APG with 2 SPG for me so far.
Recommended Badges: Dimer, Master of In and Out, Limitless Range.
Strengths: Going to the lane, Passing, Steals, Ball Handling.
Weaknesses: Defending, Rebounding, 3 Point Shooting.
Use Monta if: You need a speedy Guard who can go the lane, and pass if necessary. Pick & Roll Maestro.
Don’t use Monta if: You need a defending Guard that can play without having the ball in his hand, and can shoot 3’s.
Examples on how to use him:
Iso #1
Iso #2

BOSH AND MONTA TOGETHER:
Pick n Pop
Pick n Roll
