EA Sports UFC 2 Techniques: Takedowns, Submissions and How to Defend!

In this tutorial video of EA Sports for UFC 2, which is set to be released March 15th (tomorrow), it breaks down the controls for some techniques in game. It also covers how to get up and break clinch, how to defend submissions, how to perform modified strikes, how to perform submissions, how to perform takedowns, how to posture up, how to defend and counter takedowns, striking defense and how to parry.


Here we have compiled a list of the techniques and combinations in UFC 2 as something for you to reference back to, but would recommend checking out the video to get a better idea of how and when to use them.


Takedown and Clinch Defense


Takedown Defense:


Xbox One: RT + RS down


PS4: R2 + R down


Reverse Takedown:


Xbox One: LT + RS left or right


PS4: L2 + R left or right


Submission from Takedown:


Xbox One: LT + RS down


PS4: L2 + R down


Clinch Defense:


Xbox One: RT + RS up


PS4: R2 + R up


Submission Defense:


Xbox One: RT + RS towards opponent’s direction


PS4: R2 + R towards opponent’s direction


Escaping Submissions:
