JFF to have "Experimental" Preseason

The JFF announced that it will have it’s longest preseason period since the Fall 2003 season. During the Fall 2014 season, the four preseason contests for each team will be spread out over a period of approximately two weeks.

JFF Preseason Week #1 will begin at approximately 8:00 AM EST on Monday, September 8, 2014, and will continue until approximately 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, September 11, 2014.

JFF Preseason Week #2 will begin at approximately 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, September 11, 2014, and will continue until approximately 8:00 AM EST on Monday, September 15, 2014.

JFF Preseason Week #3 will begin at approximately 8:00 AM EST on Monday, September 15, 2014, and will continue until approximately 8:00 AM EST on Thursday, September 18, 2014.

And finally, JFF Preseason Week #4 will begin at approximately 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, September 18, 2014, and will continue until approximately 12 Midnight PST on Tuesday, September 23, 2014.

The JFF Fall 2014 Regular Season will officially begin at approximately 8:00 AM EST on Thursday, September 25, 2014.

The JFF League Commissioner expressed that the time for league members to offer suggested changes, modifications, and improvements to the league’s gameplay rules, settings, and penalty & skill sliders will be during the preseason period. The Commissioner said once the Regular Season begins, there will only be modifications or changes in very rare, extenuating circumstances.

“The time to issue complaints and criticism of one or more of the league rules will be during that two-week preseason period,” said The JFF Online League Commissioner. “99.9% chance, I am not going add, delete, or change any rule once the Regular Season gets rolling.”

The Commissioner said he is looking to increase the quarter length from seven-minute quarters to eight-minute quarters, and he is also looking to implement a “Good Sportsmanship Rule” that will prohibit league members from “running up the score” on their opponents in the last two-to-three minutes of the Fourth Quarter.

“To be truthful, I have not received too many complaints regarding gameplay rules the last two seasons (Spring / Summer 2013 and Fall 2013). The biggest complaint I have always received usually had to do with some variation of nano-second blitzes, and opponents repeatedly using the same three or four offensive plays the entire game. ‘QB Wrap’ provoked a lot of criticism on the last two versions of Madden NFL, but EA Sports actually removed that particular play from Madden NFL 15. Most of the complaints I have received the last two seasons had to do with the trading of players, and I have already announced changes and modifications to the trading guidelines for The JFF,” added the Commissioner.
