Joe Montana 16: What We Know So Far

In an interview with Damon Grow, the CEO of Superstar Games, a lot of the info about Joe Montana 16, is clarified, and put into one place. It is set to be a game for mobile devices, but also with the ability to be connected to Chromecasts and other comparable devices. The idea behind this game is setting your lineups throughout the day and when you get home from work or school is when you could hook up your device to your TV and playing the game with the team you have setup all day.

According to Damon Grow, Montana 16 is not going to be a “pay-to-win game” and they will not be “nickle and diming” their users. He said that their options are either charging some amount for the game up front, distributing it for free and paying from there (a one-time fee) if you wish to keep playing, or distributing for free and just asking for money if people like the game. Damon Grow prefers the latter. This game will not be game based on paying for every move you wish to take and Joe Montana 16 will be a much more in-depth game than that. There will be no limit to the amount of seasons in franchise mode.

They are attempting to cater to many of the simulation crowd because lineups and leagues can be set on the go and you can play the game later. If this game is ultimately successful then Damon Grow says they will be looking to expand onto PC, and eventually the possible console release. They want to flush out all of the problems on IOS and mobile devices as well as get feedback on how they can improve it before releasing it to PC, something that they plan to do once it is ready.

Unreal partnered with Joe Montana 16 after seeing their demo. Damon Grow is ecstatic about this and believes with their partnership this game can become even better. This partnership makes going to PC or even console very easy for Joe Montana 16 and Superstar Games to do. Early access on PC is a possibility, but Damon Grow is leaning away from that at the moment.

Joe Montana 16 is unlicensed which means customization will be huge in this game. This would make it unlike any other popular sports game, and Damon Grow and Co. are looking to give everyone the opportunity to go wild in this “sandbox of football.”

Before moving Joe Montana 16 from mobile devices to PC, they are looking to study the numbers of how many people are playing this game and how long they are playing it and if Joe Montana 16 is meeting their needs as a game. Mac is also a possibility, but currently they are focusing on PC. This game will be playable on the iPhone 5S and up.

Joe Montana is very involved with the development of Joe Montana 16, so he is much more than just the title. Nostalgia plays a big role in this game as well, as it can link fathers and sons through ones love of Joe Montana and that era, and another’s love of games. Damon Grow was very enthusiastic about this interaction and how impactful he thinks it could be.

Overall, Joe Montana 16 is aiming to be a simulation based game at first with aims of improving game play as the game is developed and played. The idea behind it is that you can manage your franchise on your mobile device throughout the day and hook it up to your TV to play with your team. Once feedback is acquired and multiple updates are put out and the development team is satisfied it will be moving to PC, and console is a possibility as well.

NBA 2K16 Patch 4 Available Now

The latest NBA 2K16 patch is available for download now in the form of NBA 2K16 patch 4, clocking in at a hefty 2.4GB. It initially rolled out for the PlayStation 4, but at the time of writing the patch has been rolled out across all systems, including the Xbox One and PC. What’s new this patch? Check out below to find out.

GENERAL

  • Addressed a hang that can occur when editing/applying tattoos in Edit Player.

  • Resolved a bug where one or more users in a co-op game would lose control of their player at some point during the game.

  • Fixed a disconnect issue that some users were seeing during online games.

  • (PC) Fixed a corruption issue where some users were experiencing hangs, missing art assets, and infinite loads. Please ensure that your virus scanning software (e.g. Avast) whitelists your Steam folder/directory. This is required for new content to properly download and install.

  • Closed a loophole where the pause timer would stop counting down when sitting in the ‘Report Image’ flow.

  • Improved the user interface when applying contracts to players in MyTEAM by removing the display of how many contracts the player would have IF the current card was applied.

  • Fixed a case where the user accepting an online invite would sometimes skip the position selection screen in the way into matchmaking.

  • Headwear should now properly unequip when attempting to do so from within the MyPARK Apparel section of the store.

  • The player portrait will now update when a new user is signed in on the main menu via the account picker.

  • A number of other optimizations and enhancements have been made to improve the user experience.

GAMEPLAY

  • Teammate free throw celebration/interaction behaviors have been corrected.

  • Slightly tuned down the frequency of ball collisions.

  • Fixed an issue that led to a temporary loss of user control on possession changes while in the 2K Cam.

  • Tuned down the frequency of missed alley-oop and putback dunks when open.

  • Fixed an issue that allowed high rated post players to shoot post fadeaway 3’s at a high percentage.

MyCAREER/MyPARK/MyCOURT

  • Fixed a rare issue where the game would hang when Doris Burke interviews your MyPLAYER at the end of the first half and/or at the end of the game.

  • The correct records and rep levels will now be shown for the players on the MyPARK loading screen.

  • Corrected the wall and floor art for the San Antonio Spurs theme in MyCOURT.

  • Fixed a case where some purchased shoes were not properly appearing on the shoe racks in MyCOURT.

MyGM/MyLEAGUE

  • Resolved a hang that could occur many, many years into MyGM when entering the offseason.

  • Generated players will now wear the correct color socks for away games.

  • Fixed an issue where generated players were getting their free throw animations randomized every offseason.

  • The Strengths/Weaknesses screen in Team Comparison should now be functioning properly once again.

FIFA 16 Title Update 5 Offers Balance Changes

The latest update for FIFA 16 is here, and with it several new changes. FIFA 16 Title Update 5 seems largely focused on balance, with improvements having been made in the following categories based on player feedback:

  • Penalties and referee decisions

  • Passing

  • Defensive pressure

  • Player positioning

Here’s the bulk of the changes coming with FIFA 16 Title Update 5, according to the FIFA blog over at EA’s website.

  • Improvements to the Rules and Physics systems to have better referee decisions and help address penalty decisions.

  • Behavioral changes in ‘Secondary Contain’ and ‘Interceptions’ to help balance high-pressure situations.

  • Improvements in how quickly fatigue effects occur for players using ‘Aggressive Interceptions’ and ‘Secondary Contain’. This could, in turn, have an impact on your ability to apply high pressure as the game progresses and your players become increasingly fatigued.

  • Instances where no auto tackle launched even when positioned properly.

  • Improvements in the positioning system to allow for better attacking runs and support.

This update is only available for PC players at the moment, but consoles are likely soon to follow at a later date, although the timing seems to be up in the air at the moment. In another minor change, attribute boosts provided by chemistry are also being altered, which affect passing, interception, and long shots.

Are you a PC player who has had the chance to check out the update? Weigh in on your experience in the comments below.
